Rocket Lab Secures Key Japanese Contracts, Stock Rises 6%
Rocket Lab's shares climbed 6% following the announcement of a new contract with Japan's space agency JAXA, marking its expanding role in the global launch market. The deal includes two Electron missions from New Zealand—one in December 2025 for the RAISE-4 satellite and another in 2026 carrying eight small spacecraft, including educational and ocean-monitoring payloads.
This follows another multi-launch agreement with Japanese Earth-imaging firm iQPS, bringing its total booked missions for the company to seven. The back-to-back contracts highlight Rocket Lab's strategic foothold in Japan's burgeoning private space sector.
